Calculated Field formula with boolean values

_SP2007

If you are trying to create a formula in a calculated field based on boolean values “Yes” and “No” (mostly from populated InfoPath form fields) instead of “1” and “0” it will not work. SharePoint probably assumes the values are string values and you will receive no valuable result. In this case replace them with TRUE and FALSE instead of “Yes” and “No” and it will work – “1” and “0” always works.

=IF([Field]=”1″,”Completed”,”Pending”) >> works when 1 and 0 boolean

=IF([Field]=”Yes”,”Completed”,”Pending”) >> not working when Yes and No is boolean

=IF([Field]=TRUE,”Completed”,”Pending”) >> then replace “Yes” with TRUE and it works
